Sanjay Thirupputkuzhi

Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer

Sanjay Thirupputkuzhi has served as Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer since February 2025.

Thirupputkuzhi leads Information Technology, Information Security, and the Company’s Project Management and Customer Experience Departments. In those roles, he heads technology and digital transformation efforts in support of NJM’s strategic goals, while ensuring that those efforts remain focused on improving the policyholder experience.

He began his career at NJM in 2005 as a Lead Solutions Architect. In the ensuing years he held positions of increasing responsibility, including as Assistant Vice President, PMO. He was promoted to Vice President, Strategic Alignment and Execution, in 2019.

Thirupputkuzhi earned an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani, India. He is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, and has earned the LEAD certificate from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
